Aideron CEO Update Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Aideron!

Here we are at the end of the year, and at these times it is good to reflect on the year past, but more importantly, to look forward to what next year has to offer.

State of Aideron

Just a bit of a brag. We now have over 250 members and routinely hit over 100 members logging in each and every day. Our survey was run last week and the results speak for itselfs: Aideron Robotics is in the best place it has been in it’s history. We are the largest corporation in Gallente Militia, and already December is the most lethal month in Aideron history. While we are doing incredibly well, we have so much room for growth. Our enemies are strong, and we must continue to actively work to rise up to our challenges to ensure the Aideron banner is a lasting rallying place, and truly be the “premier corporation for Gallente Alpha clones.”

As an aside, this is a reminder, the purge is coming once again. You have to log in at least once in the month of December to remain an active member of Aideron (don’t forget to get your presents when you do!

Vlill Defence

Most of the last month has been dominated by the attack on our home system of Vlill. The defense officially kicked off on the 9th and officially ended on the 22nd as Vlill finally succumbed to enemy pressure. Make no mistake, although the State did end up taking the system, this operation was a great victory for us as a corporation.

  • Vlill held for over two weeks of near constant siege, significantly longer than Aivonen (our attack on a Caldari home system.
  • Although Vlill was our primary goal, we also dedicated a lot of our attention thwarting Black Shark Cults efforts in South the in and around Anna, effectively stunting their progress.
  • Aideron Robotics demonstrated tenacity, and effectiveness that far exceeded the militias expectation, this has driven other organizations to have a newfound respect for us.
  • We were proven correct: Keeping structures out of home systems is the single most important factor when it comes to keeping our homes. Our philosophy is being adopted by the other groups within the militia.

Now that the main effort is over, we now see a State bolder than we have ever seen before. Because of that we are consolidating our satellite operations, and ensuring Fliet is the best fortress it can be.

A New Fortress Fliet

With the north on fire, the fortress we have worked hard to maintain has become nearly invaluable for the militia. Although we did lose our Azbel, we have two new structures floating in our space. XMETA, ran by the extremely effective and active Kontraband, has grown respect for us and our operation, and as such they are moving to Fliet to stabilize. The hope is to distribute the workload of keeping our southern holdings secure.

Unusual Allies

For now it appears as if our primary enemies are the State, and Shadow Cartel. Escalating Entropy are one of the most dominant low sec forces in the game, and the Caldari are working hard to ensure close friendships with them. This, in combination with Roy Henry stepping away from primary leadership in the militia, has lead us to rebuilding allegiances with RDRAW, and potentially a new agreement with Snuff.

Once again, our instincts proved invaluable, as our previous neutrality in the Gallente civil war has put us in the unique position to help heal the divide, and strengthen the overall cohesion of the Federation.

While Snuff is not the best ally, we continue to work with 3rd parties in order to grow our network of allies as we move to hang even more structures in our home.

Keeping the War Going

All of this takes ships and isk and work. We have been providing almost all alpha ships at 0 cost to the alphas. While this has so far been sustainable, it may not be if we grow much larger, or gain even more ambitious plans. Because of this, we are shuffling our logistics a little.

Asgard Atrons will continue to be provided for free in all main op centers. If alpha hangers are empty of Asgards, please let staff know so we can restock. In addition to this, we will provide all other in demand fits (including alpha fits) on contract in major stations at a very reasonable cost (5 mil for a Spartan-2-A for example). This allows us to expand indefinitely. If you need ISK I encourage you to work with our LP buy back program, or simply ask in Discord and we can get you the help you need.

What this also means, is we can always use more people helping maintain these contracts and these supplies. These are paid positions. If you are interested please inquire in the #corp-supply channel in Discord.

Additionally, we continue to work on even more exciting ships for you guys, and we are happy to roll out the “Liomos” Maulus class frigate. While the Liomos doesn’t perform well as a solo fighting platform, when combined with a fleet, additional Asgard, or Spartan-2-A frigates, the Liomos can use its superior speed to protect itself, while it’s damps can change the course of battle. Particularly effective when used in groups of small ships, the Liomos sensor dampeners can make our enemies take significantly more time locking our ships, effectively removing that DPS from the field, and preserving our forces long enough to dismantle their forces. Finally, the Liomos as dirt cheep, clocking it at just over 2 million isk, and is flyable with a brand new Alpha clone, with only the SP given for a buddy link.

A New Enemy

While Templis and friends have people busy in the north, a new threat has risen in the South. Black Shark Cult is a new alpha based organization just like us. They have extremely effective recruitment tools, and have been ambitiously gobbling up everything they can in the south. The good news is these are not the hardened pilots of Templis, or even IBLOB, and thus are much easier to thwart. That being said they are learning, and addressing our new enemy head on will be a priority for us in the months ahead. I would love to get some propaganda made about this, as an aside.

Promotions and Awards

We have a new promotion, that I halfway announced at the last meeting. Charun Rynnaw has been promoted to Senior Diplomat, which is a Director level position. Charun, and the other senior leaders are working with me to continue to solidify the structure and roles within the corp. Charun’s specific responsibility is the maintenance of our new allegiances, as well as keeping track of old enemies.

Additionally we have the following awards
Billy - Aideron Commendation Medal (because I am pretty sure I still owe him one)
Joe Median - Aideron Commendation Medal (for his work designing and building the “despratrons”)
Slaiphon - Aideron Commendation Medal (for heroic work during the Vlill defense)
Gimlithedestroyer - Aideron Commendation Medal (for heroic work during the Vlill defense)
Max Kuha - Skill Injector - Aideron Commendation Medal (For winning the kill challenge for the Vlill Defense)

If you feel someone deserves an award, or some form of recognition, please message me.

o7 and Happy Holidays, lets make YC 119 the Year of Aideron.

Aideron CEO Update: Thanksgiving Edition

Greetings fellow corps members, and let me start off by saying thank you to each and every one of you that have contributed in making being a member of Aideron these last few weeks one of the most memorably cool things I have ever gotten to take part in, and I am only more excited about what we have to come.

And by contributed I mean the over 50 people who have joined since our release of alpha clones, and our returning players contributing in making this month already the most active and bloodiest months we have had in nearly a year (Aivonen notwithstanding). A special thanks to the amazing logistics team who tirelessly brought forth hundreds of ships for our newbros to fight with confidence in, and an even more amazing thanks to the newer guys who have since stepped up and grown to be leaders among the new alphas.

All of this has been accomplished with our military commander out of the helm, but soon he will return and we will be ready for war!

For now, our focus must be on readying ourselves for that time. Recruitment continues to go strong, but that means more and more people will be needed to help point people in the right direction. We now have enough membership to have consistent presence outside of our usual 0000-0400 time range, and that means new commanders will be stepping up to lead in those time zones.

But furthermore, our general membership will need the confidence to take charge when no one else has. You do not need to form up to be organized, but if you are thinking there is “nothing to do” check to see if you can drum up interest in Discord. We are actively encouraging these things, and expect to see people jump to the chance to help you, and provide you the means to try out what you want. This is a learning corp, but we do not provide the direction, only the capability. You must express your interest, and allow others within the corp to build with you as we unlock even more aspects to this game. The corp will support these efforts, as a breadth of experience, and highly engaged players, benefits us all.

Our efforts for now are going to remain the same: oplex/deplex in the Heverice/Okkamon area. Use this as an opportunity to continue to educate and learn. Do not get burned out, if you want to roam or do other activities feel free to. Right now Muetralle is the third most contested Squid system, but with our slip back to T2 it is less valuable to be running complexes. Exploration, mission running, and other activities can help with ISK, and new players should feel free to express a need to get ISK; understanding that most experienced players will opt to “teach a man to fish”.

Industry continues to be built up. I am very proud of Andre’s efforts so far, and I see many people looking to get involved for the good of the corporation, as well as their pocketbook. Keep up the great work.

In part thanks to our efforts and resources, our ally ACTEE has managed to put up one of the first Azbel class Engineering Complexes in New Eden. We have full access to it, and recommended using its services until we can get our own up and running in Fliet.

I would once again like to welcome all of the new players who have joined us, and all of the veterans from across new eden who have come to see what all the fuss is about. I look forward to our bright and prosperous future.

Aivonen Wrap Up

Greetings my fellow Empyreans, my fellow Aideron Robotics members, and my friends.

This last week has been incredible for us. After our successful experiments in Loes and Heverice, there was a militia wide call to action, and boy did we respond to the call.

SuQEKNk.jpg

Not too long ago, we as a militia were collectively celebrating our successful Okkamon campaign. That push was designed to teach the Caldari that we were still top dog, and in this it succeed, beyond our expectations. Our victories at Okkamon were so complete, the very alliance defending it was disrupted. For a while the Gallente leadership feared that we would break the backbone of the State, a real concern.

Faction Warfare works best when you have an enemy, and for quite some time the State have not been a viable threat. Because of this the Federation had resorted to sparring with local pirates, and even descending into civil war, rather than fight for the causes we signed up for. A healthy State is good for both of us, and we feared that after the rout at Okkamon, our enemies may take quite some time to recover.

In the end it was decided to offer them a cease fire against major staging systems. Offer them an opportunity to regrow, and regroup.

They responded by attacking Enaluri, in a blitz campaign that saw it fall faster than we could react. It goes without saying that this was quite a surprise. As a result of this, the State militia began to show confidence, and even gloating over their victory. Our own leadership, fractured by months of internal strife, quickly pulled together to assess the situation. Quickly it was decided: the only way to show truly prove our might was to strike at the current heart of Caldari operations, the home system of TEMPLIS: Aivonen.

Citadels were deployed and billions of assets were moved into Aivonen in the following days, and on Sunday October 23th, YC118, the bloodshed began. However, it was soon discovered that opposition was fierce and resilient. The State was regularly fielding numbers that far exceeded our own. Very quickly the war descended into a conflict of attrition and literally thousands of T1 frigates and destroyers poured into the conflict time and time again. However, after the first few days it seemed as if the State had gotten to a level where they could hold us back. For nearly three days our forces were incapable of getting the system above 20% contested with any reliability. Then on Thursday, our Citadel became vulnerable.

Thanks to a sequence of very unfortunate out of game events, much of the leadership that were expecting to be able to mount a defense during our vulnerability hours were incapable of doing so. The State quickly capitalized on our weakness and reinforced the Citadel. Real concern that the Citadel would fall, and the offensive would be dead in the water spread. Morale was low.

However, the next day things began to turn around. Up until this point, the cracks within GalMil seemed to be breaking our ability to mount a proper offensive. RDRAW, one of the largest and most powerful forces within the Militia, refused to assist in major efforts, including having active operations elsewhere in the early week. However, when the might of the Federation is at risk, RDRAW and their allies came through, bolstering the militias defenses and turned the tide against the combined forces of the the State and their allies, WAFFLES.

This victory stood as a turning point for the war, with the State unable to remove our fortification within their system, the will to fight began to wane. The foundries of New Eden struggled to keep up with our war efforts, as major trade hubs were emptied of hulls and weapons. Supply teams from both sides had to compensate and build alternative fits to keep the war of attrition going. However, by this time the writing on the wall was starting to become clear: the unstoppable force was budging the immovable object. Sunday, October 30th, YC 118, a day that will live within the militia as ‘Bloody Sunday’ over 25 billion ISK worth of ships and equipment was left as wrecks, and the tides finally swung to the Gallente side.

OJbbF7a.jpg
'Bloody Sunday', in graph form

62GPu7S.png
'Bloody Sunday' was good to our pilots

In the end, nearly 90 billion was left on the battlefield, and nearly six thousand ships were turned into scrap. Aivonen is now in Gallente control, but is no means secured. The overwhelming effectiveness of having an Citadel in an enemy system has been unilaterally proven, and the State militia citadels still stand. Meanwhile forces on both sides are having to take stock of a much more capable State than previously imagined. All of this on the 11th hour before Ascension and the alpha clones potentially change our war forever.

I am intensely proud of my membership, and our allies for their relentless effort in this war. I would like to commend all of those who worked diligently to bring billions of isk worth is ships. Most of the ships were worth less than four million ISK fitted each. I am happy to announce that thanks to Aideron membership’s incredible effort we have managed to top our all time kill record, beating out a time in which our corporation was literally double in size.

While this victory has been incredible, it is by no means the end. The State will be looking for signs of weakness to pursue a counterstrike, and we must not give them such. Keep to your watch, and we shall continue to secure Essence region for the glory of our proud Federation.

Aideron Update 10.118

Greeting Aideron! Let me Begin by announcing that I am officially the CEO of the corporation. Woot \o/

And thank you all for making my rise to power so enjoyable, and celebrating it! You guys are totally awesome!

These are terrifically exciting times for us, new enemies and new possibilities stretch out before us. While we are not as active as we were during our Heyday, the corporation has been showing great signs of life, and has received many recognition from our allies.

As you may be aware, November’s ‘Ascension’ expansion is coming on November 8th. This is less than a month away. With this comes huge changes to the game, and I am excited about the possibilities that come from it.

With a new age, comes new direction, and while the corporation is going to fundamentally stay the same as it always has been, I believe that some changes and new projects will help advance us in the upcoming months.

A new Aideron Robotics
With the upcoming November expansion, we are in an excellent position to leverage the changes coming. As such we have a new identity for our corp as the “premier source  for Gallente Alpha clones to be successful and get content.” By focusing our efforts on only Gallente Alpha clones, we can facilitate them effectively, and ensure that they are valuable to us within our primary doctrines.

From the CSM minutes we know that the new player experience being added in November will push new players to Faction Warfare. This is of course a gigantic boon to us, as long as we are prepared to leverage it. We have just over one month to get the corporation in as good enough shape as we can before we begin adding potentially large numbers of new members to our ranks.

Being Industrious
One big step that we plan on taking soon is supporting our basic industry functions. We have a high-sec pocket directly next door, and it's high time that we begin to leverage this effectively. We already have basic industrial support, and we'll be looking into getting an engineering complex in November. In addition we are also becoming close allies with the Corp ACTEE. These guys are our friendly Neighbors, and we have taken the first steps towards a proud alliance in coming to their aid this week when they were wardecced. Our actions were deeply moving to them, and we have begun discussion about a partnership, and the potential of such. While our goals are different, they are mutually synergistic. Hopefully I will have more to share on this soon.

For those who are interested please join our industry channels and try to get an alt in our industrial corporations.

Activity standards in the Corp
One of the biggest changes is a new requirement on activity within the Corp. Simply stated, at the beginning of each month we will be removing any member who has not been active within the previous month. The goal of this is to ensure that our membership list is truly representational of our active player base. Of course any members who are removed for this can rejoin without hesitation whenever they become active again. This is not meant as a punishment for inactive people but rather allows us to create a corporation that is effective, and a good place for those people to come back to.

The primary impetus for this change is the addition of alpha clones. Given that having an inactive account is no longer a thing, we must take additional steps to ensure that our Corporation properly reflects our activity levels.

Our place in the Warzone
The last several months has seen a great uptick in our activities, including the support of the militia at large. Additionally when our structures came under attack, we actually saw a response from our allies like we have never seen before. This is very encouraging and the militia is pulling together in anticipation of November. I encourage all members to join the militia slack channels and we will continue to support militia efforts as much as possible.

The state is also preparing for November. However, our fantastically successful assault on Okkamon has left their leadership largely scattered. While victory is a primary goal, having no cohesive opponent isn't the best place to be. As such, the militia is thinking about picking fights with pirates long enough for the state to reform. Expect to hear more on those fronts in the future.

Snuff recently moved in next door. While this has been a challenge, we, along with our allies, have been so far successful defending our assets from them. We are hoping to create a long term solution to deal with this, and expanding our POCOs in Fliet and Deven is still a high level goal.

A Time for War
I am pleased to announce that our capabilities to attack have been greatly increased. Primarily and thanks to Billy, we now have deployment packs, roughly two billion isk in small ships, ready to be deployed at any time. What this means is our future attacks will be much more coordinated and we are building standard operating procedures for various military maneuvers. As a reminder, our core military leadership team still has positions open. If you are interested in helping fill them, please contact Blastil.

Getting our name out there

If we are going to make a name for ourselves for Alpha clones we need to have good training material, and propaganda. I am placing 2 billion isk into a fund to help pay for the production of such things, if you are creatively inclined please see our propaganda channel in Slack.

September YC118 Update

Command Update

Greetings team! Time for another update.

The last few weeks has been exceptional for Aideron, we have consistently formed fleets three nights a week, and have frequently supported Gallente Militia efforts. That assistance has not gone unnoticed, and our numbers, professionalism, and willingness to be the damn best logi in the game has been commented upon by many members of Galmil leadership. In fact Aideron is now being invited to the Galmil leadership meetings, something that is totally new as far as I know.

Additionally, our economic machine has continued to churn on at a good clip. We have nearly doubled our purchasing power since Citadels launched. This should give us the monetary power to do what we need to do in face of the massive changes coming.

And make no confusion, the changes coming are massive. With “F2P”, faction warfare is going to be one of the most exciting place for the new Alpha clones, and this gives us something that we haven’t had before: Focus.

Aideron Robotics is a corporation of friends, and the premiere corp for Gallente Alpha clones of all experience levels to engage in objective based Faction Warfare.

Let’s break that down.

Aideron Robotics is a corporation of friends: I fly with you guys because I want to fly with you. Members should get along, and problems are the responsibility of the directorate to stomp out. The biggest value of having an insular group like a corporation is we can decide what parts of the general public and philosophy we don’t like.

Aideron Robotics is the premier corp for Alpha clones of all experience levels: Not all Alphas will be new players, but in FW we may have committed players that just happen to stay Alpha for periods of time. Alpha players fit into our doctrine perfectly, and can be leveraged by us to great effect. Our goal is to not treat Alphas like second class citizens, but have the infrastructure to make life as an Alpha as effortless as possible, so members of all types can focus on the mission objectives. By only focusing on supporting Gallente Alphas, we ensure that we can give them the support they need, and also ensure they are compatible with our fleets.

Aideron Robotics engages in objective based Faction Warfare: With the Alphas coming, I expect to see a massive uptick in FW activity, including Caldari. The draw of the Caracal Alpha is a strong one, and we already have reports of Templis and other Caldari members preparing along similar lines as ours. We focus on objectives within our space, and try as much as possible to give our actions purpose. EVE is a game of purpose, and we should always have an objective, even if that is testing our capabilities.

To the above, we have several goals for prior to November:

  1. Ensure all of Rogue Squadron is up to date, and purge any remaining old fits/contracts and build a compatible set of fits for Alpha clones
  2. Prepare to erect an Engineering Complex ASAP for use as a mass production facility for Alpha equipment
  3. Get our website as far along as possible prior to November
  4. Get our relationship with Galmil to be strong, and get members integrated with the militia.
  5. Formalize our PI process and ensure our PI efforts are to support our Citadel/Engineering Complex construction.
  6. Construct a system that allows us to retain new members, and ensure people don’t slip through the cracks
  7. Ensure our capital forces are sufficient to be able to do some basic maneuvers (finish the Dread tests)
  8. Create a strong Aideron identity, branding, and in station ad.

All of this will take a lot of work, and we have several people doing everything they can already. Now that we have focus, I call upon all our membership to consider how you can help make Aideron into the corporation we all want it to be.

Military Update
(Blastil)
We’re currently preparing for changes to doctrines as a result of the alpha clone announcements. This is going to require a lot out of our Omega pilots, including our willingness to step into leadership roles in the corp until we can give the requisite skill transfer to alpha pilots to start acting on their own. Additionally we will need to consider that we may have to start covering the specialist roles, while alpha pilots make up a larger and larger bulk of our fleets. Please prepare accordingly.

I strongly suggest that everyone here train into EWAR skills if you haven’t already. Damps and Jams are both going to be necessary moving forward, and one thing we’ve lacked in the past is experienced ECM and Damps pilots. I could really use some more pilots who find this gameplay enjoyable. This means you will need to be able to fly either the Lachesis/Arazu or the Rook/Failcon. In addition we will need new booster pilots to fly in fleets. As more details are available in regards to the fittings, I will keep you informed.

Suggested fittings (this should give you an idea of the skills you’ll need)

https://o.smium.org/loadout/private/103264/372726766709506048

Make sure you have a small cache of frigates and such in Rakapas or Nisuwa so we can deploy forward in support of plexing efforts further into Black Rise.

This is a logistics issue, but it affects military readiness: we need to make full effort to provide a whole navy of throwaway T1 frigates. I’m bringing in blueprints and doing materials research on them now to help produce these T1 swarms, but it's going to take coordinated effort from all aspects of Aideron to properly equip these guys. Especially the next few months alphas are going to lack any form of income to help pay for their PVP, and in the meantime we’re going to be providing them as many throwaway T1 frigates as we can to forward the cause.

Warzone Update

The Gallente are preparing a new offensive. Expect to see objectives, and good old plex fighting. In addition, the militia should be testing EU fleets more often, if you can attend these fleets you will be doing a great service not just to Aideron, but the entire Federation.
